eclipse - Android Emulator not starting in a Virtualbox Ubuntu Instance -
i using windows 7 64-bit (12 gb of ram), virtualbox 4.2.4 running instance of linux ubuntu 12.04 32-bit.
my ubuntu vm has 128mb of video memory, 3d acceleration, 4gb of ram, 2 cpu processors, , ample space.
i installed eclipse juno in virtualbox instance, downloaded android sdk http://developers.android.com.
i set avd running android 4.2, api level of 17 using arm cpu.
in eclipse, created new android application (a basic application) , tried run it. emulator never loads up, though.
i variations of next error when trying launch:
opengl warning: glxgetfbconfigattrib 0x9dbb250, failed xvisualinfo opengl warning: xgetvisualinfo returned 0 visuals 0x9dbb328
i did research on xgetvisualinfo, , appears virtualbox related. can 1 provide pointer?
you can't 2 reasons: emulator utilize intel virtualization technology (vt) or amd virtualization (amd) extension used ubuntu vm running within virtualbox , cannot utilize sec time within running vm.
there same thing cpu interrupt related debugging/interrupting vm used virtualbox , cannot shared sec time embedded vm don't remember exact detail one.
i don't know reasons of running emulator within vm 1 thing can run emulator straight within virtualbox own vm or outside of virtualbox , etablish connection between eclipse , emulator. on web, find many references on how run emulator straight within virtualbox. have done myself in past , there no problem.
android eclipse virtual-machine virtualbox
