on demo page of ckeditor please type in source mode illustration :

default entermode : "p"

<h1>test</h1> <p>hello</p>

after this, in standard mode add together new line before "hello" word , press backspace... chrome add together span tag (but should not)...other browsers works fine.

when alter entermode "br" works fine in chrome too...it's fine me, there way override "br" entermode have double new lines when come in key pressed? thanks

this webkits' terrible behaviour. when press backspace creates span preserve styles of 1st line when 2nd line (header) merged it. unfortunately cannot fixed in other way ckeditor core devs, because custom backspace handler prevent that.
