view - Problems displaying all products on magento homepage -

i having problems displaying products on magento homepage. have added code cms - pages - design:

but had no luck. have tried re-indexing products , have flushed cache. been @ hours looking answers.

add root category id block, looks like: {{block type="catalog/product_list" category="2" name="home.catalog.product.list" alias="products_homepage" template="catalog/product/list.phtml"}} , alter category attribute "is anchor" yes.
