file - Moving through a Filestream line by line (without using StreamReader) (Visual C#) -

i have file , have skip 4 lines skip 2 bytes problem if utilize streamreader, can't move 2 bytes since there's no read byte.. if utilize filestream can't move through line line

i tried read line line using streamreader , stream using basestream property , move 2 bytes when basestream, position @ front end of file..

can help out?

can read byte byte filestream , count newlines?
