java - trying to connect to eclipse marketplace gives InvocationTargetException -
when click on "help / eclipse marketplace", popup progress box says "retrieving info http://marketplace.eclipse.org", waits long plenty network timeout, displays eclipse marketplace dialog popup says java.lang.reflect.invocationtargetexception. "details" button doesn't give further, , "error log" gives lot of info not give me farther info (someone else know means, guess).
i on windows 7 64-bit, running eclipse indigo 3.7; part of working on problem, did "help / check updates" , allow loose. ran 1 time again , said no updates found.
i have looked @ net settings in ie (which never use) , in chrome (my default browser); both of them set auto-detect network connection settings. machine in home, using wireless router cable isp, don't think proxy should necessary. however, i'm programmer, not network person, happy larn else there should checked.
i enabled telnet on windows machine , executed "telnet marketplace.eclipse.org 80"; cleared command screen , appeared waiting input. entered telnet command character , popped dos prompt. there seems no connection issue domain on port 80.
my runtime environment java 1.6.0_24; jre6 installed execution environment shows in eclipse ("windows / preferences / java / installed jres").
i found 1 post claimed turning on windows firewall fixed issue; looked , displeased find windows firewall turned on machine; turned off, did not alter error. (i have hardware firewall, don't know why need microsoft's or bitdefender's.)
there several posts on subject, none of them seem fit me closely enough; of things have tried above came posts.
there 1 or 2 reported bugs on issue in eclipse, seem @ to the lowest degree year old , reportedly fixed.
can please tell me how solve this, or @ to the lowest degree look?
