my current situation:

i might have finish wrong approach on this, please tell me if should differently.

i send event android app track db load times.

event category: 'db' event label: 'dbloadtime' event value: 2356 (or long db took load in milliseconds)

in analytics table view of different load times, listed under each other. analytics documentation see seem accumulate event values received. means can total value, or average value. however, utilize similar illustration have, utilize event value store 'doanload time' video.

my question

is @ possible, or values similar event labels accumulated default, , there no way them listed separate values. if not possible, how can info? maybe sending load time event label?

why need know:

highest value not serve me purpose, there might 1 guy 1 slow device experiencing long load times, 2nd longest load time half of that. average value not tell me much either, there many people trying app out, 1 or 2 records in db, load fast.

it seems want histogram see distribution of event values eventlabel , eventcategory. we've wanted see same sort of thing -- because seeing actual distribution (or quartiles) much more helpful seeing mean , sum.

unfortunately (d'oh!) ga not back upwards reporting histograms eventvalue. i've spoken several of ga developers , no 1 has said going happen sometime (d'oh!).

thankfully, we've found workaround ga developers have said ok -- i.e. not in violation of terms of service.

instead of reporting number of milliseconds device took load, can include number string in either custom-dimension, or--in case-- string in eventaction. allow study how many hits there of each ms number.

if using ga reporting api -- or helpful explorer -- can re-bin like, can generate histograms see distribution.
