i'm new gem-writing world, , i'm trying create sure gem flexible can out of box. i've got couple configuration options need set things testing, i'd options able overridden @ ruby on rails level.

i know gems devise already, i'm not sure how should accomplished (primarily "put these files here, set files there" kind of perspective). can give me tips or suggestions?

edit: i'm looking know how these gems manage having configuration settings defined locally gem , having them defined in rails, , defining rails application takes precedence.
