i working on responsive design site. have big navigation contained in 1 ul want turn 2 ul's on smaller screens. technical point of view using media query not pausing me problem means same links twice in source. also, on of pages want add together condensed content smaller screens, again, have 2 variations of content 2 div's, alsways 1 hidden depending on device.

the question have search engines, guessing seen content duplication , lead penalties. best alternative then?

repeat navigation 2 times not create real problem: if google not ignore 1 of navigations, mean these links have bit more of importante in page.

but duplicate content, is bad 1 aditional reason not possible seo problem: serve 2 times same content, , waste bandwidth. if real problem, maybe not if time @ to the lowest degree 1 have on css display:none, is improve thought if seek think way css can serve same content diferent display widths.
