ios - Does a view have to be "full screen" when using Storyboard? -

i've been using 1 storyboard file, , several customized nibs custom controls in app. i'm reading on storyboard , trying improve app. think i'm confused now

is possible, have scene when using storyboard, not full-screen? if yes, should handling case, say, user touches "outside" of view smaller total screen? how, if have "view objects" shown when info server? when customized command shown, touching leads other views. can utilize storyboard , segues this?
