windows - Chrome DNS lookup time local address -
i'm developing local site in windows 7 using wamp, domain of sitename.local. have sitename.local in hosts file poiting 127.0.0.1. i'm getting dns lookup times of around 6 seconds in chrome. if reload page it's instant, if wait min , reload have wait farther 6 seconds dns lookup.
my question, why having dns lookup if it's local address listed in hosts file? , there way can cut down time?
a bit of additional information, using chrome://net-internals can see cache ever min long, , when cache expires causes lengthy lookup time. should impact shouldn't need up?
your issue may .local
domain. has special behavior. i'm not dns expert, had "pleasure" of debugging related issue friend time ago. boiled downwards trying resolve .local
domain via multicast in network. see a quick explanation here.
try changing sitename.com
forcefulness resolution using hosts file.
