linux - Should i shutdown lxc containers before shutting down the host? -
i running ubuntu precise host lxc containers in it. should or have shut downwards containers before shutting downwards host ? or host shutdown propagated containers automatically ? know if utilize lxc autostart feature, shutdown containers, not want utilize autostart.
the containers running on host system's filesystem, , don't have own filesystem. means filesystem point of view, can kill lxc without risking filesystem corruptions.
but if have services running within lxc, illustration mysql, or other services require clean shut downwards own info stores, it's of import these processes stopped cleanly. otherwise risk causing corruptions on info store of these services.
if utilize script in /etc/init.d start lxcs, should signal shutdown automatically 1 time shut downwards host system, because init phone call /etc/init.d/ stop. if started them manually, via lxc-start on cli, , want sure shut downwards cleanly, it's improve if manually before shutting downwards host system.
hope helps.
linux ubuntu system-shutdown lxc
