PHP image created from literal string and database string appear correctly in browser but save without database info to desktop -

i've created script generate png based on:

jpeg base of operations text = combo of literal strings + strings database query

the resulting image displays correctly in browser. however, if effort drag image desktop or select , "save image" base of operations layer , literal text included. portions of text result of database query ignored.

however, if "copy" image , paste photoshop, text retained. can please explain causes , might circumvent it?

i'm osx , firefox/safari.

drag , drop much more convenient.
