Is using IIsVDir to create a virtual directory to a NAS device possible? -

purpose: implement script apply variables create virtual directories within websites , map them network storage device.

description: i'm using next script:

ps c:\windows\system32> cscript c:\windows\system32\iisvdir.vbs /create w3svc/1/test images \\nas\testing\images

where nas network device. however, next response:

connecting server ...done. root directory format unknown. please utilize '<drive>:\<path>' format. type iisvdir /create /? help.

i'd note i've attempted utilize "/s" flag , append ip of device, since it's not server, doesn't respond script expects to.

so appear without drive letter, not possible. i'm aware can done manually in iis have other sites mapped network device, rather doing manually every time build out site i'd script out.

thoughts?

thanks in advance helping me troubleshoot outdated hardware.

iisvdir
