apache - wordpress redirect for Multisite not working -

aim : moving multisite wordpress installation localhost

environment: lampp on ubuntu 10.4.

i moving mutlisite wordpress installation localhost. steps have completed:

recreated db using backup sql file. copied folders , files server , kept under htdocs. using newly generated wp-config.php, when tried install mutlisite, asked add together next wp-config.php

i have added next in .htaccess:

while access site url http://localhost/wordpress, taken http://localhost/wordpress/wordpress/ , error message stating firefox has detected server redirecting request address in way never complete.

please help me set correctly.

ps: new wordpress.
