Copying or Replicating Amazon RDS MYSQL weekly -
what best practice keeping amazon rds uat database refreshed weekly production version of database? thinking of mirroring production rds, don't want changes in uat reflected in production. thought of taking weekly backup of production , restoring uat, time consuming. can apply snapshot of production onto uat if uat restore of point in time production?
rds offers 2 mechanisms database backup/recovery. can utilize automated backups allow point in time database recovery/creation. alternately can utilize database snapshots create manual or automated snapshots can utilize create new rds instances.
